Leave it to Landon...

I left Landon and Jael alone to play in his room with his "tars" and other toys. Apparently, J left him alone for a few minutes to go to her room and get some plastic food and dishes for a tea party. While she was gone, Landon managed to turn the lock on his door and to make matters worse, check out his doorknob:
What IDIOT puts this kind of doorknob on a kids bedroom door? Well, after about a half hour of trying to talk a one year old through the process of UNlocking his door, James finally played the "man card" and kicked the door in! To our amazement the door moved open on the second kick and the door somehow managed to stay in tact, though we did have a minor casuality:
So, James is off to Wal-mart on the most awful of shopping days to purchase wall stoppers for the kids walls...you know, those rubber disk thingies you screw onto the wall to prevent (or cover up!) these kinds of accidents.

Once we were inside the room, James spent about five minutes teaching Landon how to UNlock his door!!

BTW, Jael's door has the same stupid doorknob as Landon, so if anyone is looking for a last minute Christmas gift idea for James, I've got one for you!!! But, you have to guess what it is 'cuz I ain't telling!

Well... you might see James by Christmas Eve. I know the lines are the worst part of the shopping experience at Walmart right now. I waited two years ago for an hour and a half at Walmart. NO FUN. I'm actually amazed the door stayed in tack.

my nephew did that when he was little. My sister in law PUNCHED a hole through the door. Thank goodness it was one of those hollow plywood type doors.

i'm so proud of james for his super-human strength to rescue a child (and mother) in distress. knowing this is a james' kid though, lando was likely laughing on the other side of the door.

Actually, Kelley, whenever he was asked to unlock the door, his answer was "no" more than half the time!! He really tried to do it only once.
