Drive up

I will say this for the last time, I promise: US129 was not made for a mini-van!! You know you're in trouble when there is a sign on the side of the road that reads "Last stop for beer for 70 miles"!!! I think James found some statistic that it has 318 curves in 11 miles...they even named it "the tail of the dragon". But, for as nasty and nauseating as it was, I must admit, it was quite beautiful.

James and the kids on the suspension bridge

what a wonderful view...nice pick babe!

L: "ta-da"...showing off God's beautiful masterpiece!

looks like a fun time was had by all.I found an statement made about dragon tail. It says it's one of America's scaries drives.
"Tucked just below Great Smoky Mountain National Park, the sinuous “Tail of the Dragon” is an 11-mile stretch of U.S. Highway 129 between Tabcat Bridge, Tenn., and Deals Gap, N.C. Get ready for 318 curves, many of them monster switchbacks and hairpins, as well as a series of steep “S” curves called The Slide".
